    When word opens Vista x64 starts small freezes

    Hi,

    When i open word 2007 my systems start to hang/frezees. It started three weeks ago. When I use Word2007 my computer starts to get really slow. When i push the internet explorer icon it doesnt recognize my push for 3-4 seconds, the same goes for all other programs that I try to open. The problem gets larger if I have a very large document open.

    The problem is only present when word is open. After i close word the computer acts normal again. I have tried to uninstall Word2007. That didnt help. Yesterday I tried a clean format, that didnt help either. Together with word I use Reference manager 11. I suspect it might me the problem. But I cannot find anything online about the problem and what to do about it. I have also tried spyware programs and antivirus.

    I use a HP8530p and vista x64.

    Does anyone have an idea of what is causing the freezing/hanging?

    Follow your instinct. Disable Reference Manager and see if any improvements occur.

    Another thing is to review and see if there are any addons associated with Word.

    Something about reference program plugins, perhaps. Endnote has known (and unresolved) problems with Vista 64.
