Recently, whenever I boot my Vista pc up(specs in sig) I get this folder that appears on my desktop. "Programs" folder. How do I stop this from happening?
I delete it and empty the bin but it still shows up when i reboot.

Does it show up as 'hidden' by any chance? It might just suppose to be there, but hidden.
If not, you can go into Windows,Documents and settings, user, bla bla, desktop and delete it from there. It can`t show up again if you delete it from the source.
But it might be something needed. If it`s not taking up disk space, right click it,properties, make it hidden and that`s it. -
Huh. It seems like recently there have been a few people with this problem. Here's a past thread with a fix in it: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=247096
I haven't verified the fix since I don't have Vista, hopefully it works for you. -
is your startbar messed up like the person in the link that jin07 posted?
-
no its not. i think it had to do with a program i DLed called "RecentX"
I somehow fixed it. thanks ;p -
How did you fix it?
-
dragged the programs folder into the start all programs list

But you said that you originally deleted it, but it would always come back. So you haven't solved the problem, you just put it in another place. It seems like a folder that cannot be deleted, that's what I draw from this experience.

Thats how I fix most of my problems (random guessing) and i learn from them -

Ok, that's a point of view new to me, but as long as you are happy, the forum is happy too.

Thund3rball I dont know, I'm guessing
Your not hip to the new game Wirelessman... Put your problems somewhere you can't see them and they'll just go away!
LOL

Well the folder originated from that program I DLed which caused the problem in the first place. I deleted it from there because it made a separte folder, "Programs" and put every app. I have in there. It was basically a double. So i deleted it, and it remade itself on the Desktop.
