    hi,

I was about to buy Sony Bravia V series 40" .
.. but W series 40 inch is selling for $100 more.. but its Full HD.

Do we even need Full HD ? coz other than Internet.. Full HD content is not availabe easily in market..

From 6 feet distance... can u even notice difference between 720p & 1080p?

Why i posted here is because i view Full HD content on Windows currently..

I would get the 1080p Bravia, as $100 isn't much and that way you can get all the goodness out of bluray (should one ever decide to get it). Some people say they can tell the difference, others disagree.

The best way to decide is to go into a shop that has both models, and play the same 1080p (I'm pretty sure the V series supports down-scaling) video on both and see if you can tell the difference when you stand back as far as you would be at home.

Bluray and (basically dead) HD DVD are currently the only place to get 1080P pitcure...I believe.

I agree with everyone else, go for the 1080p for only $100 more. You are futureproofing for cheap.

And from only 6 feet away, I think you would notice the difference on a screen that size.
