I was just going through the list of startup items to disable Windows Defender related entries when I saw this entry for XTU that is dated back to December although I have just installed this latest build of Windows 10 1607 4 days ago
Where on earth did this come from?

It's not uncommon for an uninstaller to leave files behind during an uninstall, that's why I use an uninstaller tool like IOBit Uninstaller to clean up after the uninstaller is "done".Last edited: Aug 14, 2016 -

Maybe you were sleep installing XTU?Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -
Clevos Control Center uses the same access into the EC controller as XTU Turbo FANs stuff, so it maybe some shared stuff. It's not like I have seen it being bundled with CCC, but I have neither taken it apart to see it's actual components either...yet.

WTF... XTU service included on the last CC. Tested newest CC ver v5.0001.0.73 just now. But XTU installer is not included in the programs and functions (where you delete installed software in windows). Perverse!!!! Latest version CC v5.0001.0.73 is intended for the new DM2-3 and most likely not the old P870.
Controll panel contains no CPU clocking for P870DM-G, such as the new model.
CC ver 73 Cpu/memory Overclocking work for the new P870DM2-3 ↓↓↓↓↓
The old modell of P870 with same controll center ver 73, but with NO overclocking of cpu/memory ↓↓↓↓

Well that explains why my GPU clocks got completely messed up.

I will install this older CC after I have uninstalled CC 0.73. Try Overwrite the new Crap before I uninstall the old CC again.
I will try Revo uninstaller on this mess!!hmscott and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -

Controll Center was useless before, But the version for the new Clevo models take the cake!!Last edited: Aug 14, 2016Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -
Seriously....A simple system restore will remove it. Unless you guys are part of that crowd that disables it? Thinking it's going to speed up your computer or something?

Well, if i get one ill be doing all sorts of testing. Since it wont be my main machine I will be able to crash it as many times as I want.

But bro @Phoenix must start to be more critical of what he put into http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/clevo-p870dm-dm-g-drivers-mirror.786094/

Yes, lets leave the other "taptops" alone.

Nah, but I gues it has something to do with stuff not sticking after reboots and it was messing up the fan profiles on certain models. And they would have to uninstall and reinstall and a few other things. To get it to work part of the time. So the concensus is not not use it at all.
Me, I'll use it if it's the only thing working and nothing better for that particular situation. -

Wiped and re-installed Windows and fans are back.
But dam.. these stock Clevo fan tables are so slow to react. -

ImageUSB creates a forsenic image which means, the ISO will be huge as it takes into consideration even the free space on that USB. Any other suggestion? -

So I uninstalled Control Center AP v5.0001.0.73 and removed all file and registry remnants using Revo Uninstaller then rebooted. Next, I installed Control Center AP v5.0001.0.50 and there is no XTU service!Prema, hmscott, bloodhawk and 1 other person like this. -
That should avoid the size issues of the image too.
Where did this XTU entry come from?
