I use the up arrow (parent folder button) in Windows Explorer quite often. But I can't find it for Win 7. How do I turn that feature on? Thanks!

You can try this:
How to add a ?go up to parent folder? button in explorer for Windows 7 and Vista | freewaregenius.com
Haven't tested this myself so use at your own risk.
Haven't found an option in W7 to restore the up arrow natively in the OS. But I use the "show full menus" option in the folder options and I also like the clickable buttons in the address bar so I don't need the up arrow anymore. -

Great! Thank you! I played around and found Alt+Left and Alt+Right working as Back and Forward. This is even nicer than the buttons.

Doesn't backspace do the same thing, it's what I always use anyway.

<noparse>The very top field of the window lists the full path of your current directory. Each directory name functions as a button to that parent folder. If I were in my user directory I'd see "Computer > Local Disk ( C: ) > Users > Username" and each one of those words can be clicked on.</noparse>

to add to the interesting-stuff-that-doesn't-per-se-answer-the-OP-question but fits:
win8 will have an up button again -
