Seeing how many of the Browser threads are outdated or buried deep within, I've taken the liberty to create another one of these "browser war" threads.
Which browser do you use and why?
-
I use Firefox, I decided to be loyal to the browser as it introduced a viable alternative to the older Internet Explorers back in the day and I'm quite thankful for that. Plus I like the add-on extensions which are a nice feature on the browser too. Did I mention that I like Foxes too?
-
Another vote for Firefox here. I first used Firefox 1.5 back in the IE6 days and continue to use it today as I find the add-ons available for it quite useful.
-
firefox as imo its the best. wouldnt touch ie with a bargepole.
-
I've added a poll and I've voted for Firefox, I've used it all my life and have been loyal ever since. -
Firefox, more specifically, Nightly UX.
NoScript is the main reason why I stick with FF. -
Opera as my primary, IE as my secondary when something doesn't work on Opera which honestly hasn't happened in ages. Opera does come in with some features i like that are built in (not add-ons) like mail client and tab stacking.
-
Chrome. It's fast and IE has been horrible up until 10. 10 is pretty decent.
-
Windows: Internet Explorer
Mac OS X: Safari
Both are great browsers, and integrated right into the system. I don't like Google as a company and unfortunately Opera's performance (especially in regards to Flash video) just doesn't do it for me. -
Firefox. Only thing I don't like about it are the constant version updates. Frequently have problems with some add-ons I use, mainly for work, when I use my personal laptop.
-
Chrome because tried firefox and it cant take my browsing behavior. Though I like the theme and openness on firefox. I can use whatever when not on my personal computer~~
-
I've been using Firefox for years but I've been noticing odd slowdowns, so I'm trying other things.

Firefox, IE never seems to work on my laptops, I did not like the lack of a search box on chrome, and I liked the way favorites are saved on Firefox better. Never tried opera.
-
Firefox
Zooming in on pages on Chrome is weird on my laptop, it always look different compared to Firefox. -
IE 10 - very fast, stable, tracking protection out of the box (adblock TPLs). All sites I visit work flawlessly.

Crome,
because you can install it eventho you dont have administrator rights
And because i have no administrator rights i cant install new adobe flash player but crome has a built in adobe flash player. I use it too because of its good tabs and because history is very easy accesable to open sites you opend earlyer without having to search for ages. -
Nightly x64 Firefox because I can. Used to run Waterfox though.
IE as backup for my college website because some pages do not display correctly in any other browser.
I may give Chrome a run again when they join all of us in 2012 instead of sticking with 32bit.
I could probably switch to Opera but I can't remember exactly why I preferred Firefox over it, eh well.. time to give Opera a run again!

Chromium !
-
The address bar is the search box. -
IE is the best at downloading other browsers. I prefer Chrome but keep Firefox as a backup.

chrome. it used to be light (not so much anymore), but now because all my favorites, personal settings, and such are on the cloud.
Pirx, of the all-things microsoft you despise, you tolerate IE?! -
Firefox, because that's what I usually use. I did switch over the SRWare Iron (Chrome with privacy) for awhile because one of the Firefox 1x.x updates wasn't working for me well and I got tired of it. Firefox fixed whatever that problem was though.
On my phone, I use IE since it works well, don't see a reason to use something else. Also like IE9 on the desktop, but all my stuff is on Firefox and I don't feel like moving over unless Firefox acts stupid again. -
Usually Chrome since I like the clever connectivity to all Google services I've been using. It's fast, stylish and not annoying with add - ons and adverts.
I use Pale Moon on my old laptop. It's a simplified Firefox (Gecko engine) meant for usage on the weak machines. -
-
Actually some address bar (IE/firefox) wont search and instead, they try to go http://(serach word here)
-
I use IE10 because it's quick, has a decent set of security features out of the box, and does what I need it to do.
-
killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
Firefox, although I'm getting a bit frustrated sometimes, it always hangs on video playback from Youtube. Better switch back to html5 fast.
But I still won't go of my trusty ol' FF. Mainly because I have some very critical add-ons on it.
IE9 as a backup browser. -
In light of what some of the people have posted about the search function, it validates using Firefox for me, so I can have my dedicated search box.

I've been extremely happy with IE10 since upgrading to Win8. It's fast and it just works well. The metro version is the best touch-based web browser I've ever used by far. The quality gap between the desktop IE10 and its desktop competition isn't as great, but I still think it's the best out there.
-
I use Firefox on my XP computer, and IE on my Win 7 and 8 computers.

firefox have problem with flash playback is the reason i go with chrome. It is more about it's resource management I guess, it play fine when I have little tabs open. However when I have ~20ish youtube(even blocked with no script/flashblock ) +some dozens of other tabs, it just lag. HTML5 is not really a option for me because add on support is lacking.
hardware acceleration for flash video is a joke on a modern computer imo. -
YouTube
FF for its customization of my likings. -
Currently Chrome.
Much prefer FireFox for customization, but last few years FireFox has been sucking. It's terrible. It's still too slow, and clunky. Chrome is lightweight and snappy. So is IE10. Mozilla needs to trash FireFox and just start from scratch. -
You can download WATERFOX, which is a 64 bit ver of firefox
-
-
-
I use Chrome most of the time; I use Firefox when I want to view or type in Japanese or certain other foreign texts.
-
Opera as a main and Internet Explorer 10 as a backup in case something doesn't work, like tijo. Add in a few extensions to Opera and it works fine for me.
-
Firefox was great until version 3.6, after that it became too buggy and just one big memory leak, using Chrome now.
-
I was a long time Internet Explorer user. Even now, I will admit it runs a bit faster than Mozilla. But Firefox never has any issues displaying web pages, where as IE constantly would. Plus, I've observed Firefox using so much less memory than IE. Tried Chrome, but I couldn't disable tabbing (which I HATE
), and other features which aren't customizable in Chrome but are in Firefox.
All hail Fenrir! -
You hate tabbing? I love tabbing! I love tabs in everything, not just browsers, my messenger, my music playlists etc.
-
firefox but with flash player issues every now and again i will to switch to IE 10
-
-
I voted for Firefox, although I use Kmeleon as my primary browser...both are Mozilla's children...
-
For javascript benchmarks, I've found overall, IE10 to be 2nd fastest between Chrome, IE10, FF, and WaterFox. FF is getting worse and worse while IE is getting better. FireFox is very extensible, but right now it's just too slow and problematic, and frustrating to use. Chrome, though I don't like it, it's simply the overall fastest and then IE10. But no adblocker plus for IE10 = no thanks.

Comodo Dragon user here. Chrome without the privacy issues, and much less code under the hood. Fast as hell
