I mean as in PC software wise.
Which is the best mp3 player
-
Aimp2
/////////////////// -
foobar, winamp
-
I normally use Winamp
-
Aren't they all free or at least have a free version? Then why don't you just download them and see which you like...
-
im using Winamp
-
Used to use winamp for at least 3-4 years but a year ago changed to wmp since i couldnt find a reason to have 2 media software that did the same job
Whats the purpose of using winamp exactly ? (have in mind that usually my mp3 player is just minimized) -
1 thread isn't enough?
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=329091&page=3 -
I think that thread ended a discussion for ipods/zunes, so he made this one for software
-
The last few posts were back on-topic after a mod changed the thread title, but oh well!
-
I think one of them needs a title change since both have "software" in it
edit: seems like the other people just went off-topic that why he made a new one ;p -
Foobar or Winamp.
2 best on Windows. -
Btw any advantages of using any other software for music apart from wmp ?
-
That's what i'm wondering as well. as i dont like the new winamp to be honest
-
Found wmp really good after of 3-4 years using wimamp. I like the feature that goes at the right of the systray when u minimize it too
The only "issue" i have is that i dont really trust micro$oft's software
-
2nd this motion, Songbird 1.0 release is also worth a tryout.
cheers ... -
WMP sucks.. the audio is all muddy, no useful DSPs, very laggy.
itunes is also laggy but its sound quality is not that bad. -
That depends on the pc i guess. Winamp seems more laggy on my system than wmp
As for DSP there are a lot of plugins for the job, basically most of the plugins that get released for winamp support wmp too -

Winamp had alot of problems on vista for me and lagged badly.
-
Muddy audion on Windows Media Player? That's rather a too low bitrate on your MP3 files.
Anyway - it really depends what you want to do.
For all my CDs I use Sonic Stage, Atrac at 48KBit/s (Sony Walkmans - but may change)
If I listen to a classical CD in wave or MP3 I generally use Windows Media Player and I'm perfectly happy with it.
Windows Media Player has few options - and it is simple, but its also light on resources.
I'd recommned it anytime.
By the way - I read somewhere that equalizers can "destroy" your audio with respect to your listening experience, as it'll "muddy" your audio output.
(Adding this just in case - the file will stay unaffected) -
Not running a gigantic piece of overblown software that's tied way too firmly into the underlying OS just for playing back music for one.
That and the fact that Foobar is so skinnable it's ridiculous.
Oh, and WMP does horrible things to existing album/cover art collections. -
foobar ftw!
a lot choices of dsp

I'm using zune 3.0 seems pretty good
Better interface than itunes too. -
I like WMP11 because:
- Nice interfrace for browsing my library (once I've fiddled with the default view options a bit)
- Can view/edit playlist side-by-side with library view (unlike iTunes where you have to switch back and forth)
- Syncs with my Sansa Fuze
The main downside of WMP is the slow scrolling... I hope they fix that in WMP12.
Winamp would be my runner-up choice... it has most of what I like about WMP, but I don't like Winamp's library view/browse interface quite as much. It's nice to have all those skins and stuff though. -
Try Songbird.
-
I still use WinAmp since 5-6 years ago...
Want to try Foobar though, but I just don't understand how to modifiy it. The plain foobar is just... too plain -__- -
I use WinAmp, also
...yet, I still have WMP

I guess I'm the minority here, but I use VLC for everything lol.
-
Yes I guess you are, indeed.
I mostly use iTunes or Winamp. -
lol, WMP is available in Windows, don't need to download and install another program
BTW, I am a fan of M$
-
I have been using media monkey since my WMP11 went nuts. I also just downloaded Songbird and it looks good and going to take another look at foobar.
-
I think winamp is good choice. Am using it about 5 years, no problems on vista so far.
-
same here wmp. it does what it needs to do.
-
I use the Zune software because I have a Zune. Works pretty well, no real complaints.
-
I use VLC, but mainly for video files.
As for audio, I use foobar. It is very customizable and light on resources too. It is also rather plain to start with, which I know some people like and is one of the reasons I use it. -
KMPlayer for me.
-
When I had Windows I used iTunes.
-
i don't have a zune, but i use the zune software
-
I use winamp with MMD3 skin...
that is, of course, until Google launches its own new beta media player... then I will switch to it instantly, no matter how good/bad is it... -
Die-hard Google fan? lol
-
I use wmp. I also have a Creative Zen Vision-M and use it's program. I-tunes for my ipod..but I do like wmp.:0
Lynn -
I've been using Zune software and I like the graphical interface. It doesn't support playback of FLAC files, however, which sucks for me since most of my CDs are backed up in that format.
-
wow Songbird looks great. I am going to be using Songbird for now.
-
fubar 2000 has my vote
-
I downloaded it but haven't installed it yet. I don't want to have to create playlists over again
Which MP3 Player should I use? (PC Software)
