I tried searching for this topic and found it, it was outdated and for Apple Mac OSX so I thought we could start a new one for us Windows people.
As the title states, which browser do you use?
I personally use Mozilla Firefox for the great community and addons.
Let the feud begin!
-
opera all in one product
i like the download manager irc, email app and its lite -
I mainly use Firefox. But depending on usage, I will also employ IE9 and Chrome.
-
IE 9 only . I support PC's for a living, so I need to know as much as I can about IE9.
-
I use IE9 on my Windows 7 PC and Google Chrome on my XP PCs.

IE9. It does everything I need it to and I like the layout.
-
I've been using Chrome mostly. Mainly because of its search bar, where you can search on google and/or type URLs in one single bar. Now that IE9 has that feature... I think I'm going to switch to IE9

killkenny1 Too weird to live, too rare to die.
I didn't vote. I use both FF and IE9. And I like em both too. Although I must admit, that I use FF more, because I need it for my studies.
-
I generally use FF with no script. Makes me feel safe at night when I go to bed.
-
IE9 mostly because of corperate and govt sites needing it
-
IE9 is my backup browser. Google Chrome is my main browser.
-
I've been using Opera for years, I saw their layout got copied in Fx 4.

Touch support is the most important feature for me since I have a dual digitizer screen and IE 9 handles it excellently and natively. I'd switch to Chrome in a heartbeat if the touch support wasn't such a poorly-executed afterthought and it played nice with Windows at 125% dpi.
-
At work we can only use IE9 -
Opera due to it working out of box without having 9001 extensions to load in and manage
I use IE9 when sites are coded badly and don't work with it though. -

I mainly use IE9 and Chrome. I like both. Have not used FF in a long time and before that, my preference was for Opera (till about version 9).
I just bought an Android phone and I wonder if I will opt to use more of Chrome as a consequence - hasn't happened till now. Though I am sure when I get a Windows phone next (with the new OS) and a Win 8 machine, I would probably use IE more then. -
Voted Opera, although I use IE9 for a significant number of sites. I use Opera for the reasons I mentioned in this post. -
Doesn't matter who had what first. It matters who has what now.
-
Opera for speed.
Firefox for downloading stuff of Rapidshare, etc. to avoid the 30 second wait. Also used to avoid ads.
IE9 because it's the most stable on a PC. -
IE9 because it has a good layout and a zoombar. The zoombar is extremely important for me.
-
Chrome beta since it has the profile sync, is quite light, and some good addons.
-
chrome is my main browser these days, with Firefox as a backup/alternate especially for sites that dont work with chrome. in my experience, a lot of sites that claim to only work with IE actually work with FF just fine, so.

Firefox. My personal cocktail of add-ons is the main reason why I use it, but that may change in the future. This particular browser also plays nice with 1Password, a program that I cannot do without.
-
I use Firefox at home and Chrome and IE at work. Firefox has been my longtime favorite, but Chrome is definitely right up there.
-
I'm the crazy fool. I use Firefox 3, Chrome 12, IE 9 64-bit, IE 9 32-bit, Opera 11 and Safari 5. I don't have a favorite one - they're all on the desktop and I randomly pick one or the other each time. At one time I was helping to test a website and so I installed a bunch of them so that I can report it works or doesn't work with one or the other browser. bye.
-
I use firefox and for the few things that will only work with IE I use IE view. I also use the NO Squint add on for zooming and Nuke anything enhanced. This allows me to remove sidebars that bleed into my zoomed text that I read.
-
I'm starting to primary use Google Chrome now and its a good browser, faster than FF. I find the pin tabs to be very convenient since it loads up your webpages almost instantly and I've been trying to find a better way. Does anyone knows a better way to get your websites up in a flash besides the Speed Dial extension?
*Edit* Switched back to Firefox, Disregard above post. -
I use chrome for personal browsing, it just feels light and really fast.
i use IE9 from time to time tho. -

Chrome works well if you don't need the safety of Mozilla's add-on ecosystem. IE9 remains a horrific choice. Honestly, why does anyone use IE?

Slow to open, slow to load pages, tends to hang, lock-up, isn't configurable for selective script blocking, so it's unsafe.
Basically, IE9 is rubbish, like IE8, like IE7, like IE6......rubbish like most Microsoft applications. It's absurd that a PC user has to use third-party FOSS applications for just about every task. Just how paid many Microsoft developers does it take to make Media Player perform worse than VLC? That's just a single example. -

), although I didn't use IE8 for very long. The only two MS programs I regularly use are IE and Office and they haven't given me much to complain about... and Media Player. It plays my mkv, avi and a few other files I have just fine.
I have tried chrome and firefox awhile back but I just don't like the layout and they always seemed to be buggy or incompatible. -
IE9 has greatly improved and has been used more and more now by developers and nerds like me. Its not as "unsafe" as it used to be with IE6 and certainly more stable with a very easy on the eyes layout.
-
Opera. I like the tiny interface and useful RMB commands.
-
What makes me choose FireFox over IE is a small and simple thing.
When you right click on a link to get the open in new tab option, in IE it is listed as the 2nd choice, but in FF 5 it is the first choice. I know this may sound stupid, but that alone saves me alot of time as I tend to use it very much.
In addition to the lovely FF addons
The interface on a whole is snappier -
I was using chrome a lot, but now I use FF a lot. I was using Aurora build for a while but it was buggy so back to the released versions. I think part of is the ability to use flash downloaders in FF as google keeps updating and sometimes, the flash downloaders don't work.
-
i use Opera on the cell phone
-
I used to but opera doesn't remember your tabs when you put away your phone. Now, I use lunasphere that remembers my tabs always.
-
IE 2.0
Its a great text reader for the web, probably malware proof since it does not have any scripting.
Runs in W7 64bit also. -
Shriek, you can make Firefox remember your tabs by pinning them. Once you do that, whenever you load your browser, the tabs will already be there preloaded.
-
IE 9. Like the layout and speed.
FF is used for this forum (only use for FF) but otherwise 100% IE9. -
-
Sorry, I did not know you were referring to the Iphone, FF for Iphone is horrendous, I do not recommend it.
-
I'm using Chrome for years fast and convenient.
Clean and cool. -
Made the big switch to Opera.
I love the "smooth" up and down scrolling and the ability to zoom in and out of pages that you have trouble reading. With my eye sight, this is a big plus.
Load times are better than Mozilla's and the speed dial is such a convenient and helpful accessory. -
I switched to Chrome due to the stability and speed improvement over Firefox
-
I use Chrome mostly. It's faster than any other browser. I also use Firefox sparingly but I don't like the separate 'search field'; search and address bars should be clubbed into one as in Chrome.
Which Web Browser do you use and why?
