Internet Explorer 9 utterly dominates malware-blocking stats
90% FF user here. -

It's not based on blacklist. It's based on how many downloads unknown .exe's have. If they've never been downloaded before it's considered an untrusted program.
IE9 isn't all that vulnerable. Protected mode and sandboxing have put it ahead of other browsers like Firefox and Opera, which haven't changed their security in a long time. -
Google Chrome proved to be unstable when I was using it. I pinned maybe 4 tabs and each time I would startup the browser the load times were significantly worse than FF. Not to mention, it would crash at times and give me an error message. I switched to opera now and never looked back. The speed is amazing and the speed dial is very convenient. So what if they have not changed their security measures? If you have a brain and some common sense and regularly update than you know which links you can and cannot click or which programs you can or can not download and install.

I have 6 pinned tabs on my CR48, it starts just fine. Not sure what the issue was for you. I don't use pinned tabs on my Windows computer.
As for common sense, I'd rather not use it. -
Chrome

I will always use IE but their recently IE9 has really ticked me off. It is very fast and very stable but has issues with flash and all flash sites. I hope they fix this soon!

I wanted to say Google Chrome , but the crashes on some flash sites even when I'm doing online banking has made me return to Mozilla Firefox.
IE9 is great till you install add-ons like Lastpass and you get a lot of toolbars and not a button like in Chrome and Firefox.
Opera is also great but just not for me because of the limited number of working add-ons. -
Opera, i'm not an add-on freak, i got tired of using firefox and i like all the integrated features. I didn't like the first versions of chrome so i never started using it.
I keep IE9 around for those sites that don't like other browsers or Opera in particular. The sites i visit don't have compatibility issues with Opera, but there's always that one random site that won't like it. They still have to fix the transparency issue with adobe reader if you use a transparent skin. Those who use one know what i'm talking about. -
I use mainly Google Chrome 12 because it is the fastest web browser. Before, I was using IE9, because Chrome 1-11 were not good for battery life. BUT, from Chrome 12, it is on par with IE9. So, Chrome 12 beats all.
The only thing I woul like is an interface like IE9, smaller and pure. -
I used firefox for a good two months, after switching from chrome. But in the end it just wasn't as snappy as chrome, so back to chrome now.

For Chrome users, be sure to check or manually limit the max cache size so that it doesn't grow way too large on your precious SSD (or HDD)...

I just set mine to 5MB. Anything beyond that it can just reload a fresh copy anyways. It's mostly so that we get an instant page when we backspace into the previous page.
bye. -
I prefer Firefox. I also have chrome for some things.

FF 5.0 because I've been using FF since 1.5 plus all the extremely useful add-ons like AdBlock Plus and NoScript which don't work nearly as well on other browsers...
-
They have FF 5.1 now.
-
Used primarily chrome and FF. for IE-only sites, I use IE tab extension for chrome. Works just fine this far.
-
Most of the time I use Opera because it have a lot of cool extensions and is very fast and stable, but some times I use Internet Explore 9 for watching TV with streaming
-
firefox. been using it for ages. see no reason to relearn a browser when i already use one superior to IE.
-
Firefox.
To me it's akin to Notepad vs Word. Notepad does open up a hair quicker and it does feel "lighter" but Word is just so much more. -

Internet explorer 9. Gives me extra hour or two of battery life and has smoother scrolling due to gpu acceleration.

I got a new Netbook recently and the browser was one of the things I was concerned with, as I haven't been on Windows in quite some time. IE9 was alright, but it felt kind of bogged down. I never used IE as a main browser before so I didn't really expect it to be such now-a-days, but I have it as a back-up nevertheless.
I used to use Firefox and gave it a try once again and it was quite snappy, and I settled on it for about a day. It had a lot of extensions and plugins though for no reason (well, I'm assuming there were reasons, but I surely didn't implement them) and instead of just figuring out what to do in terms of sorting them I just decided to uninstall Firefox.
I gave Google Chrome a try for the first time ever this morning and I have to say that I am blown away. It's so simple and fast. I love the UI, it's simply just your tabs, a button for adding more tabs, and a menu drop down icon to the far right by default, and I am going to keep it that way. I went on some commonly accessed websites for a comparison and I can say that it certainly feels faster than the other browsers that I have tried. I am really impressed with it.
I recommend Google Chrome to anyone like myself that is trying to learn Windows, this is going to be my browser for a long time. -
I've been using Chrome for around a month or so now, after being a Firefox user, buy don't really see any need to go back to FF, after getting used to it, I find it better for my needs.
-
Firefox. I never really liked the others. >;]
-
chrome as main, firefox when watching streams (adblock is better in FF)
-
1) IE9 Private mode
2) Opera for it's features
3) FF because i've used it so long -
May I ask, do browsers operate differently in Mac OS?
If so, how? -
Mozilla Firefox for the speed, ease of use, Adblocker, uses less of my tiny CPU. I sometimes have to use IE9 for sites that require secure transactions and will not work with Mozilla Firefox while doing so. I use IE9 for all of my e-mails though since my main e-mail is MSN (quickly accessed from my Windows Live Messenger program).

Chrome.
I was a loyal Firefox user since 2004-05, however when they released v4 I got nonstop crashing. Waste of my time. I went to IE9 for a bit but got annoyed by the lack of Ad Block. Chrome was the next logical alternative. -
I think Firefox 4 turned a lot Firefox users into Chrome users.
Chrome has been rapidly growing and Firefox has been rapidly shrinking. -
I use a mixture of all three, and for needs, and on Windows at least I tend to use them pretty evenly, with maybe Firefox or Chrome have a slight edge (on my linux netbook, I tend to use Chrome more). I'm happy with all 3, and tbh am a bit indifferent to which one I'm using. They all feel plenty snappy on my aged D630.

Midnight Sun is correct. You can run private mode tabs with two simple clicks.

I read somewhere in this thread that IE gives an extra hour or so battery life? Is that even possible?
Which Web Browser do you use and why?
