    Hey guys

I am having a problem were that if I burn a disc (divx avi data disc) and play it on my DVD player it comes up in a letter box format like 4:3 not widescreen 16:9.. So everytime I watch a movie I am forever pressing soom just to get it to 16:9.

Im not sure if its my DVD player but I have went through it and cant figure it out, and im quite good at electronics.

I have used IMG burn and also Nero.

What are you guys using and what is good for mods Like switching to 16:9 on burn mode ect....

BY the way If I burn in dvd format which takes ages its fine, so must be something on my computer or burner.

    Thanks guys

Under Nero Vision (which is used to convert video files to DVD format), click on "More" at the bottom > Video Options > DVD-Video tab > Aspect ratio.

    Is that nero premium ?

Also is that for data burning, as I only have this problem when I burn a Divx file.

If so I just yes automatic for everything and not 16:9 as shown?

    Thanks for the work dude.

This is Nero 8. I use Nero Vision to convert video files to a DVD structure so it can be read by DVD players. Data Burning (Nero Burning ROM or Nero Express) is used to burn files directly to the DVD. If the DVD player cannot read video files, it won't be able to play the file. You have to understand the difference between burning video files directly to the DVD and making a DVD. To make a DVD playable in any DVD player, you have to use a program that converts your video file (eg *.avi) to a AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS structure with DVD files (like *.vob). My explanition can suck so overall, you have to convert the video file to a DVD structure before burning it, you can't just burn the avi file directly to the disk.

Normally, in Automatic, it checks for the aspect ratio of the video file and choose one or another. I leave it in automatic as I can resize the image in my TV (Normal, Full, Zoom, Wide Zoom)
