The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Which is a good file/folder hide/lock solution???

    On my laptop, I want to keep certain pictures, documents and files not only inaccessible but also hidden from other users of my machine. Selecting the hidden attribute is too simple a thing, and I am looking for some other solution, where files are not only safe but secure also, e.g in case someone deletes a folder above the hidden folder, there is way the secret folder doesnt get deleted. Is there any good software solution available for such thing??

    Encrypt the file and do not share the folder with other users.
    I would make a folder or use my documents. Then right click the folder and select properties-advanced- then encrypt contents.
