Hi.
I want to know if there is a guide to tell us wich is the correct order to install drivers for EVERY LAPTOP to have a success and complete clear install windows7 64bit(For scratch to a unformatted hard disk) to ANY LAPTOP.
And i ask that because to a toshiba satellite laptop i try to install the win7 64bit from scratch it has keyboard delay that with manufacture win7 64bit doesn't has it.
A LOT OF THANKS FOR ALL.

its not like years ago were you need to install stuff in a set order
win 7 if you click check for updates when installing will find 99.9% of drivers you need
so the order you install drivers isnt need these days -

To the OP, there is no such order. It is brand dependent.

Thank God Dell isn't so anal. Windows Update gets 99% of my drivers and I install the rest if I want.

Windows Update pulls generic drivers so if you are counting on it to get 99% of your drivers, you are probably not getting the maximum out of your hardware.

Another user was having an issue and the original post was almost 2 weeks old before b4 he got a response from me directing him/her to this wonderous procedure.
mochaultimate, Good point I am new to some aspects of this but I believe some of the manufacturers maintain Gui and FTP site for drivers (Dell , Asus, Sony, Toshiba etc) -
Dell can be a pain in the , but at least they provide all the necessary drivers on their site. I wish other manufacturers would do the same.

In general, if I can't find a "known" order for drivers to be installed, I follow this rule:
(Note: This is simply my own opinion, and may easily be wrong.)
Code:1) Notebook system software (if applicable, Dell is an example) 2) Chipset drivers 3) Storage drivers (i.e. Intel Rapid Storage Technology) 4) Audio 5) Video 6) Touchpad 7) LAN 8) Wireless 9) Webcam 10) Any thing else leftover (Dell's Control Point software is an example)

Hardware drivers are not programmed by MS, but by the hardware manufacturer. Why should they provide a generic driver for distribution via WU plus a normal driver distributed via manufacturer support website? Economically nonsense.
