Oh, I use Media Player Classic v6.4.8.6. It has sooo many codecs, free but very powerful.
Get it at www.gabest.org -
VLC media plays everything from Windows media,MP3s to DVDs.
-
Winamp and foobar2000
-
i use winamp mostly b/c it rips into mp3 because my cell phone is my primary mp3 player and it only reads aac, mp3 and ogg. winamp can rip into any one of those three formats
question: does anyone who uses winamp know how to have winamp attach the correct tags or look them up(title, artist, album) to a song or do you just have to do them all manually? -
I use iTunes for my music and Media Player Classic for videos.

Add one more to the VLC group.

Media Player Classic

I'm not really a fan of VLC because of its layout, but it works well on my work laptop
At home, it's usually DivX. -
Windows Media Player v11 is very slick. I love how it displays the album covers for quick and easy search of your music files.
-
VLC to play all my videos, though my audio items are usually played VIA WMP
-
Windows Media Player 11 (still beta I think). Works fine. Likes my MDA PRO PDA.
Cheers, -
Winamp for me.
-
I use WMP 11 and iTunes, the latter usually only for podcasts.
-
winamp/bsplayer

i actually just got the full version of winamp and really like it
i'm a former wmp user and love winamp and will proably stick with it now.
i especially like the streaming TV where there are channels designated to a particular show. i.e. there is a 24hr family guy streaming station that i watch along with macgyver, house, etc.
also aol powered by XM radio on winamp is very nice.
pretty nice video too, fast and decent quality. highly recommend winamp -
For Music: Winamp Ver 2.81
- Lots of plugins to enhance the musical experience.
For Video: Media Player Classic Ver 6.4.8.4
- Tons and tons of supported codecs. I personally use CCCP(combined community coded pack) -
Depends... I use Winamp, iTunes, and WMP for various things.
-
But don't get the latest version, it's got adware.
Google for version 1.36. -
VLC for everything (and I mean everything).
-
I like xine w/ Kaffeine for a frontend for movies. I like amarok for music.
on windows side, I like winamp for music and windvd for movies. -
iTunes and WMP
Whenever I wish to stream music to my Airport Express , I would use iTunes
As for my ibook , I use VLC , and iTunes ! -
i use winamp with dfx for music and for video i use the "media player classic"
-
I use Windows Media Player 11 for my music collection and also the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack for anything else. Plays just about any AV file.
-
I use wmp 11 (before that 10) along with Itunes. I have others though as well for real media files and divx and so on
-
iTunes for music, I switch between WMP 10 and InterVideo WinDVD for video, note: you can play .WMV files and several more file types on WinDVD. I didn't really like Winamp when I tried it, but that's just me.

MPC / Foobar

iTunes has the best (and most intuitive) interface IMO. Haven't tried WMP 11, want to wait until the official, complete release. Anyone know when that's going to occur? Or if it will sync with iPod?
-
Shoulda made your poll multiple choice. WinAmp for MP3, PowerDVD for MPEG, VLC for most other video, Quicktime and Real Alternative, (with Media Player Classic) when I have something to view from those POS sources, VirtualDub Mod if I want frame by frame viewing...Yup...'Shoulda made your poll multiple choice'...
-
VLC is for vids; WMP for music, only cuz of syncing.
-
Metamorphical Good computer user
This poll needs to have multiple anwsers. Itunes for Music, WMP for streaming audio. I switch between WMP and Cyberlink for Videos.

Winamp to listen to music (fast to load, visually pleasing to look at, and allows customization of hot keys).

i used all of them.
But for music, i usually used winamp (see my winamp below).

Anyways I use Itunes, Winamp & VLC Media Player for movies. -
it's so cool!!!
-
i rarely watch video on my computer. When i do, i use windows media player.
My favourite media player is iTunes which i manage all my music. I use iTunes A LOT. Reason being is that; it is VERY VERY easy to convert file, manage music info, and it get the job done very quickly, i love iTunes. Though i hate Mac OS, which i use at my school, urgh, very cluncky software that. Who said that Mac don't crash!?!? oops. sorry i get side track -
I upgraded to XP Pro and my system isn't recognized as an official windows version, and my WMP was downgraded to 9, so, I now use WinAMP, like it a lot.
-
but some people think of it as odd.
-
itunes. nothing beats that cool looking widget.
-
-
Foobar for music and whatever I have on the computer for DVD.
-
Media Player Classic
-
Is there some sort of player out there that has iTunes style interface without it's memory usage? Being able to sync with an iPod is a plus.

Currently in the process of switching from itunes to WMP11, which I found very enjoyable and actually optimized for Windows. Now to convert my .AACs to .MP3s. .
-
vlc player
winamp for music -
Media Player Classic with Klite codec pack for Videos,
WinAMP lite for music mostly mp3s -
I believe winamp uses less resources than itunes and i also think that there is a plug-in available to be able to sync with an ipod
i really enjoy winamp... i used to use wmp and itunes but i love the customizability (if thats a word) of the player along with its intuitive interface and ability to wach streaming tv, xm through aol for free, ripping and burning properties, etc.
it organizes my 2000 song collection nicely and i can edit tags with ease -
I love Winamp. Hands down, there is nothing I can't get it to play for free. I use Winamp 2.91 for everything except the occasional DVD, then its a toss up between Windvd, Nero Showtime, or nVidia's player. I can even use Winamp for watching my DVD's if I need to, but it's just not up to speed yet. When it comes to music encoding; however, I use dbPowerAmp Music Converter. I generally don't encode video, but I've gotten good results from DVDx and some other freeware progs.
-
I-Tunes for music and I so rarely watch videos I don't even remember. Whatever the pops up when I insert the DVD lol
Which media player do you use?
