Which of the recovery stuff can I delete if I bought a "backup disc"?

It's kind of weird how HP's laptops come with a 7 gb recovery partition, software (drivers, installers, etc.) backup (another 2 gb), and then in my case, they also sent me a recovery CD.

So here's my question: is the recovery partition EXACTLY the same as the recovery DVD I have? Or is the DVD just a clean Vista install? And also, can I delete all the crappy software/driver backups on my C: drive?

If you guys have an HP laptop, what all did you delete?

    Thanks!!

The recovery dvd will have the crapware loaded when you first opened your computer. If you do have the recovery disk it will install your computer back to the first day it was used so therefore the partition seems kind of useless.

Ok, so I should delete the recovery partition AND the backups/drivers on my C: drive? How much is on the recovery DVD? The partition is almost 7 gb, and unless the DVD is dual layer (which it could be) then I'm missing something.

I would check to see how big the DVD is now, but I'm not home. What do you guys think?
