    Hi people,

I would like to your opinions about which security software is basically.....the best!
I currently use free AVG and Zonealarm however for my upcoming laptop, I wouldn't mind splashing a bit of cash to get an allround Anti-Virus and Firewall package etc. Which one should I get?

    Thanks, Jam.

Money can't buy love and it is not going to buy the best security either. I would sell you my Zip of AVG if it would make you feel safer but I think that is not allowed sorry. :D

Well personally I would keep what you have already, I do not use any anti-virus or firewall on my system (besides the default windows firewall and router NAT firewall), I just use smart browsing habits.

I wouldn't recommend spending money on commercial security software. The only exception to this would probably be NOD32, which is a very powerful antivirus program.

Your anti-virus is fine and if you want to look at a different (maybe better) software firewall check out Comodo, but be sure to uninstall ZoneAlarm first. However, I'd recommend you get some anti-spyware software. For that you should check out Spybot, SpywareBlaster and Ad-Aware. You might want to get some software that'll allow you to detect rootkits so check out Rootkit Unhooker too.
