Hi all, I have a wireless home network set through a D-Link Dl514 and was wondering if it has a hardware based firewall? Also I use ZoneAlarm free edition on my laptop (Gateway 7426GX) and was wondering if it was adequate? Can y'all post your preferences on software based FW's as well as +/- attributes that you have encountered please? Cheers.

I use norton internet security, which includes norton personal firewall

Pros: The firewall is very effective and has a pretty good understanding of whats good and whats not.

Cons: Resource hungry. This product takes a lot or system resources to run, but from all the other programs i have used i have found it to be the best even though it does take a lot of system resources to run

    Hope this helps!

I used to use Norton also, but I've switched to PC-cillin Internet Security 2005 and I absolutely love it. It doesn't take up much resources, cheaper than norton, and checks for updates every 3 hours. Plus it has network intrusion, anti-virus (system, email upload/download scan), and spyware scan. They do have a 30-day trial (I believe it includes most features, if not all) on their site if you want to try it out.
