Just thought it would be cool to see how many people plan on buying Windows 7...

I'll probably have to try it out on somebody else's computer first before I buy it. I've heard it's an improvement compared to Vista, so I might buy it if it's worth switching to. (Currently still running XP.)
-
I will probably buy it if and when it comes pre-installed on a computer I buy. It would have to be really, really spectacular for me to buy it separately -- Vista is nothing special, but it does the job.
-
I will get it for free from msdn
-
There needs to be a "wait and see" option. I'm planning to try the beta, but whether I'll buy it or not depends on what I think of the beta. I'd like it to be good enough to be worth buying, and it seems like it's got as good a chance of that as any recent Microsoft OS, but as many problems as I had with Vista, I'm not at all certain that Seven will be compatible with my programs.
-
i will contact my sources for a copy of 7

Jayayess1190 Waiting on Intel Cannonlake
I am getting 2, one on my next gen netbook and one on my 2010 laptop. Might even try it on the old Inspiron 9100, since Vista runs okay.
-
Yes I'll be getting this version early too. Probably get it through TechNet.
-
Well... at some point I'll probably buy a computer with 7 preinstalled.
But as for whether I'll upgrade my existing system... it depends on pricing... if it's like Microsoft's usual OS pricing, probably not.
Vista works fine for me... sure I'd like some improvements, but I won't feel any really urgent need to upgrade. -
Since I actually enjoy Vista, I'm sure I'll adore Win7.
-
While I'll get it as soon as it's out I will get it for free thanks to the wonders of MSDN
-
Edit out the "buy" from the post ^^ more answer

How do you edit the post?
-
Will Wait for beta
-
Can't Hardly Wait!
BTW, just out of curiosity...how do u get it free from MSDN?
I'm guessing it would be a trial and not the full thing. -
-
You need to add an option for "I will get it when I buy my next computer."
-
I'll probably get it right away, gonna try to find a decent deal first though.
-
I'd probably only get 7 if I wanted to upgrade a notebook with Vista. My desktop's running XP just fine and I plan to keep it that way.
-
Getting it on my tablet notebook (planning to buy when Windows 7 is out)
-
Any chances on a UI improvement? (complete overhaul of aero?)
-
-
Isn't it a smart thing to wait a few months before buying, like with most new technology, or does that approach not apply to operating systems?
-
It's easier to update software than hardware. Especially since you automatically update w/ patches...
-
-
I will eventually get it, just not right away!
Cin -
will get it immediately. the newer the better
-
Ill get it when others review it and say its good.
-
I will probably get it not going to buy the cd, but most likely gonna get in the future with a new notebook with the os installed.
-
Most likely I am going to get it as soon as it comes out to try it out.
-
Where is the "I am sticking with linux" option?
-

I'm gonna get it ASAP, I'm also trying to get in on the BETA.
-
-
Why wasn't "Had enough of Microsoft, switching to Linux" an option
-
No choice for "I will get it when I buy my new PC" option? Just "getting it" is different from "getting it when buying a new computer" you know
I'll be sticking with XP 'til I actually buy a new computer with 7 installed. -
I've been thinking about buying a Mac again so I may pass on Windows 7 unless I can get a free copy from Microsoft like I did with Windows Vista.
-
Nothin' doing; I'm set with XP until 2014, and after that, it's off to linux-land.
-
I am sure my next PC will have win 7... Just had my current laptop for 1 year, so probably in another 1.5 years - 2 years ill buy a new one with win 7 or w/e is new.
-
-
Unless it's bundle with my new machine, I won't get it.
-
Well, if it has some REAL exclusive features, then i'm buying
-
Me too... stick with XP and Vista (due to bundled with my notebook...)
Anyway, how about the compatibility? Is it just like Vista...? -
I think this is a great move by MS. Vista wasn't catching on so instead of riding a dead horse, introduce a new OS!
I'm seriously considering a mac. I've been a windows user all my life and I've been on macs recently - they just seem better to me. -

-
I'm getting Windows 7 AND Server 7
-
I for one can't wait for Win7.
Windows, no matter how you slice it, is a much more powerful platform then Mac and Linux. -
