From a hardware standpoint, the hospital I work at simply would not function with Vista installed on all the machines. And I'm talking about a lot of machines that would need to be upgraded/replaced in order to handle Vista efficiently. As it stands, XP/2000 Pro runs perfectly, and does what is asked of it.
With that being said, I recently became a Vista user and have no major complaints. Have not experienced one lockup/restart. CPU and mem. usage is generally low, and I haven't had an issue with software compatibility. Of course, if I ever need to access work documents/programs, they're all available through a remote connection.

I thought of starting a new thread when I stumbled across this:

Then I realised that it fits in very nicely and is totally relevant to this existing thread. I hope that nobody has posted this link elsewhere though...:rolleyes2: -
XP still outshines Vista in stability, reliabiltiy, compatibility and speed. Vista on the other hand, win hands down on ...
Annoyance. UAC, USER ACCOUNT CONTROL
So i'll deploy XP over Vista. -
It's also a good option for people who feel they have too much battery life on their laptops. Previously, one had to run one's laptop on full backlight while burning DVDs and counting primes in order to drain the battery. Now, we just install Vista!
Who prefers Vista over XP for business use?
