I use it for taking notes in class. Dead useful. Way better than Word.

Just a quick screenie for those who care.

First: What it would be in Word. Second: What OneNote does.

I use it...it IS wayyy better than using Word for taking notes in class...

I think it's faster, more efficient, and I really like how I can move notes around freely, draw an XY axis, make tables faster, everything about it....

I had been using Word for note taking during my initial lectures but I've now started using one note simple because it is far easier when it comes to text manipulation.

I have been using Onenote for taking notes during seminars or conferences since the office 2003 released. It is way better than word in this cas.

Is this with touch screens or with just the keyboard? Cuz I see one note's main use for note taking via stylus. But then I have tried using it too much for other note taking... Though I could see its usefulness their.

I've been using OneNote 2003 which is cool, but I'm hopingthe 2007 version fixes some of the gripes I've had with it.

Also, OneNote is really cool when you are using it with a tablet.

2003? Hm. Well I'm still using Office 2003 for Word/Excel, etc. Didn't know there was a '03, I had a "professional edition" of MS 2003 so maybe that's why Someone in my family used 07 for their desktop or whatever and apparently it has 2 licenses? So I just installed OneNote :)

It wasn't bundled with Office back then, but I was doing some testing for MS Usability and got the program for free.

It is really cool. I have had a few teachers that are all over the whiteboard, or they'll remember stuff to add to earlier parts of their lecture. On paper it pisses me off because I've already filled the sheet. With Onenote, I'll resize and move around text to make it fit, or take advantage of its unlimited height and width.

It's also great for classes where you have to draw diagrams and simple pictures....try doing that quickly with Word and a mouse or touchpad!

Yes. I agree leafteye. Any many colleges allow you to get OneNote for free from Microsoft. Check with that, it's 60 bucks as a standalone which you might as well grab the whole Microsoft '07 since you may go to a university or whatever. But for those like me who have Office 2003...this is great thing.
