Isn't ReadyBoot (not ReadyBoost) supposed to work to enhance the boot process? Also, since it is disabled, I notice that randomly upon a restart I'd get a brief error message then it disappears. Upon researching, I found it is xomthing with 0x00000018 which is related to ReadyBoot. I enabled ReadyBoot and that error stopped showing up but I wonder is it bad that I did enable it or why was it disabled by default anyway?

Not too familiar with Windows 8 but I do know it is not a full startup like Windows 7. One of the reasons it supposedly boots faster is it takes an image of a fully booted system then starts it up with that image. cutting down on a lot of initialization time. With a good fast SSD a lot of this time is not an issue.

ReadyBoot isn't for SSDs. Every few boots, Windows determines if it needs to do a ReadyBoot optimization. Since you have SSDs, it will error and not do that task. It's normal, tho you ideally should not see the error.
