I use the find feature a lot to find text on a webpage using Ctrl+F in IE. Most of the time it works like it should, but too often the page will zoom to 400%. Anyone know whats going on and how to fix it?
-
And this happens randomly? Sometimes it will bring up the find dialog and sometimes it will zoom in?
-
Exactly, it's random...very strange.

Have you installed any programs recently?
Also, make sure you have all the latest Windows Updates. -
I have the exact same problem on my T400.
Anyone knows if this is because of Vista + IE or this is related to thinkpad zoom?
thanks -
Ahhh...you are using IE, there's your problem.
Have you tried to see if it does it in Firefox, Opera, Google Chrome, etc etc? -
Just a guess here, but do you happen to scroll when you are holding the ctrl key? Scrolling resizes the web browser to zoom in/out.

Thanks for replies guys.
I only had the problem in IE so far . I have to use IE for some of the activeX that are incompatible with firefox
No I don't scroll while holding these keys. I have uninstalled thinkpad ultrazoom lets see if I still get this error. -
Do you have anything installed that is "non standard"? By that I mean some program that isn't mainstream; it might be interfering with IE by hijacking keystrokes.

No, I have a clean install of windows and no keyboard control programs except Lenovo Hotkey driver. Also, I just noticed something today its not just Ctrl+F but today I was doing Ctrl+P to print a webpage and it zoomed straight to 400%.
So it probably seems like a Ctrl key that does it. Do you guys think my keyboard is defective? -
Have you tried a clean reinstall of IE? Or a System Restore? -
Did you install all of the required drivers for your laptop? For most laptops, there are certain drivers that must be installed and essential system software as well.
-
Yes I have all drivers installed. I will check if I get this problem in firefox and post it here.
Why does my browser zoom 400% when selecting Ctrl+F?
