    Hi all,

For some reason, my system restore is no longer enabled. I have no idea if this is because I have Kaspersky on my system now (which has some kind of system restore, but not the same kind as Windows has). I'd like Windows system restore turned back on but it isn't letting me. :(

I have no idea why it is now disabled. I know if you install internet security software it usually takes responsibility of everything and turns off windows firewall, etc... but didn't think it would turn off system restore.

Any ideas how I would get my system restore feature turned on again? The option to do is seems greyed out.

    Kapersky probably took over it.

Also check if you have at least 300mb free space left in your HD

Update: My system restore option now seems to be un-greyed out... but there are TWO C: disks displayed in the automatic restore points box. I guess it just took ages to scan for my HDD. :S

The top one has a picture of a drive icon with a windows icon on it, and says (C :) (System) with most recent restore point saying "none".
The one beneath is a picture of a file folder icon and says (C :) (Missing), and is dated 16/11/2008 at 00:59.

Any ideas why I have two C: drives displayed here, with one being a file folder icon which states that it is apparently "missing"?

Try to find out what application is doing that to your system. Uninstall kaspersky and see if you get the option back. If not, try to uninstall another application that you might think is doing it.

When you find/if you find what application is causing this, try looking among the options in the application to see if it has something that could make you switch the system restore back. Or google for the application name + system restore to see what options is the cause for this.

    EDIT: Too late, hehe...
