Why does my music always play out of order in any media player i use? I've already edited the ID tags appropriately but it never plays right. I have screen shots of it out of order and i show how i select my music because i think it might be apart of the problem. Thanks for the help guys.

Do you have a screenshot of the full ID tag edits? I am curious about what the track number field is listed as.

If you're using 'Drag n Drop' to populate the playlist you will get seemingly random results. The order files are copied in depends on the order they were selected in and which file is closest to the cursor when you start to drag. Change your directory view to 'Details' and experiment.

No, I think the ID-Tag is what I'd want to see. I do find it interesting that it simply says <different> for Track though.

At least in my music app (I use iTunes), the Track field is what is used to handle the order of tracks (not the alphabetic name). I'm thinking it should be the same in most other apps.

The track field says "different" because i have all of the songs in that album selected.

    K. What does it say under Track when you have just one selected? That's what I'm curious about. Do the "Track" numbers match up properly?

If they do, they should be showing up in the proper track order.

Yes, they do. What i'm beginning to wonder is if it has something to do with the fact that the ones out of order are double digits.

That's possible. Depending on how it is sorting tracks, it might be doing something like this:

    1
    10
    11
    12
    13
    2
    3
    4
    5
    6
    7
    8
    9

Technically that shouldn't matter though - I only have iTunes handy to check right now, but it properly sorts tracks like this. I would suggest maybe trying to change the single-digit tracks to 01, 02, 03, etc. and seeing what effect it has.

I think i may start to cry...putting the "0" before the number worked...but that's how all of my music was originally but then i spent a good half and hour getting rid of the 0's...

    ouch... :)

Well, maybe only "fix" it for the albums where you care about them being in order.
