What is this, why is Avast telling me it has a trojan? BTW It's Tune xp I'm trying to install from download.com

even though a program may be on download.com doesn't mean that it is not a virus. Because if you search on the internet that is part of an adware coming from a website like americangreetings

What happens when you do a full scan without the file downloaded? I assume this was from the on-access scanner. If you know it is from a trusted source I wouldn't worry. Sometimes McAfee calls AdAware.exe a virus...thankfully it does not delete the program. It is funny though.
I would make sure you don't already have a virus or adware file, and then go ahead with the install.
CNet's Download.com is a pretty reputable site, I have had no problems with their programs. You'd think they'd catch viruses before the problem spread. -
That is definitely NOT the tune XP install file from Download.com.
Is this the page you are trying to download from--
http://www.download.com/TuneXP/3000-2086_4-10290928.html?tag=lst-0-4
If not, then you probably clicked one of the "sponsored links" and got redirected to a completely different site. Sponsored links will often name their links to look like the file your trying to get in order to make you click on them. And they will almost always lead you to spam sites within 2-3 clicks deep.
the file you should be downloading is on that age I linked. And it should be named TuneXP_15.exe
Avast says that file is in your temp folder. It was most likely put there by some flash object or java applet in the guise of some flashy animation advertisement or something.
Bottom line- NUKE IT and go to the link I posted above to get Tune XP.
Why is there a virus on this?
