A project I'm working on. Just to tease you guys for now.
Video in Picture (ViP) is a piece of software that improves upon the Windows Vista live thumbnail previews. It allows you to create persistent thumbnail previews that you can drag, resize, crop, duplicate, and remember for the future. It is most useful for a "picture in picture" type application for watching online videos, such as YouTube, in a little box that stays on top of all your other windows. You can resize and crop the thumbnail previews so that you can get rid of things you don't want to see in the previews.
I will be releasing the software for free once I get some bugs worked out.

WOW! That looks awesome. Can't wait till you finish it up.
-
Does it work like Quicklook on the Mac?
-
Muy interesado...

Nope. The program doesn't actually open any files. Instead it just displays thumbnails of windows you have open. Therefore, as long as you can view something in a window, you can use ViP for a picture in picture view. This makes it much simpler to program since I don't have to worry about actually rendering something. It also makes it able to display a large variety of media.
You can also use the program to quickly run through all the open windows you have by just pressing the arrow keys. -
Is it opensource?
-
Most likely I will make it open source. I'll probably start a SourceForge project or maybe a blog to host it.

Nice!, I'm in to test it when I get Vista
Why you should switch to Vista - Video in Picture 0.1 Preview
