I miss the 2 little computers in the lower right tray that lit up when inbound or outbound traffic was going through the network card. Now I just see the 2 boxes with the globe in front when there's an internet connection. There's no way to tell i'm sending lots of traffic inbound and outbound easily.
Do you have any super small footprint applications that would show me easy network calculations such as this? What about if I wanted something more complex that was a paid program? The more recommendations the better....
Thanks,
Chris

I know what you mean csj... even if you turn on activity animation, it just blinks slowly, doesn't give an accurate representation of network activity.
I wish I could be more helpful. -
Microsoft is really out of touch with its customer base...

Yeah, that is weird. I miss it too.
Also, here at my University, when I'm using an ethernet connection, Vista tells me that I'm connected to 7 networks. They're named "Network 1" "Network 9" etc. They're not in any specific order and some numbers are skipped. It's like that for all the Vista users here at my University.
It doesn't bother anything at all, it's just a quirk I guess. -
Um...I still have them (running Vista Business @ SP1 [Beta??? Not RC1 though]).

It's not the same. We all have them, but the activity is just back and forth over and over. It isn't a measurment of when activity is occuring.

I don't want some cheesy yahoo gadget, is there something out there that is a good substitute? If it's going to sit in my tray I expect it to give me inbound and outbound lights and when I highlight over it give me a graph or something that makes my nerd senses tingle.
Why'd vista get rid of inbound and outbound link lights on network connections?
