Ok so I purchased a kensington bluetooth dongle at BB today, it plugs in USB.

Anyways, it will not install properly, the CD says drivers for windows XP, so I cannot get it to work properly, or at all. I have ran the exes in compatability mode, ydayada, and such.

Anyone else have problems with bluetooth dongles or widcomm?

    ok here it is!

    1. Plug in your bluetooth dongle, it iwll not install the drivers correctly, windows update will not be able to do it either.

    2. Navigate to C:\Windows\inf\ and search for the bth.inf file. Open it and scroll to this segment of lines:

The red number was a different number before, I dont know what it was, but change whatever that number was to "2039", then windows update will recognize your stick.

    3. Click on the .show hidden icons. arrow in the bottom right corner, and navigate to the .safely remove hardware. icon.

    4. Right click on that icon and select .Printers and Devices. Make sure you dongle is plugged in. Right click on your bluetooth dongle and click troubleshoot, and just follow the steps from there, it should load the correct drivers.
