Anybody know if this will happen? What's the time frame if so?
Are there any other diagnostic programs that I can get for free that does essentially the same thing as Everest Home Edition?

Everest does not have a free version anymore. If you got one, it was not from the main Everest site. The company no longer supports that version. If you want to pay for the pro version, they do support that.
You're out of luck if you want a free Everest that will correctly identify the most current chips. -
SIW is also pretty good and is actively being developed and updated.
