Greetings - I searched this forum and the Google but I could'nt find a clear answer to this question. I bought the Windows 7 Family Pack and have upgraded three systems as clean builds. My H-P dv4t Windows 7 restore dvd's are due in some time hopefully in the near future. Does anyone know if the OEM keys will activate an installation from upgrade media? I would like to install Win 7 on the dv4t then activate it once the H-P package, hopefully with an activation key, arrives. Thanks in advance...

I still don't have my H-P Upgrade DVD's - so I installed a copy of Win 7-64 (from my Win 7 HP Family Pack) on my dv4t as kind of a trial run. I ran the slmgr /rearm command as recommended here and elsewhere - then rebooted the system. Hopefully my H-P COA will arrive in the next few days and hopefully it will work. Has anyone else tried this?
