Problems have been piling up with my Win 7 system so I want to wipe the hard drive and reinstall Win 7 from the disc. I'm just wondering whether the disc might have timed out due to the upcoming official release. Will i have any problems re-loading the OS?

Nope. You just can't download a new copy of it or get a new key for it any more. It should work fine for you to reinstall your copy, though. You should also be able to install the actual Windows 7 release over your current Windows RC, too.

Not without modifying the "from version file" in the iso of win7 rtm.

While possible, I'd advise against it. For one, this upgrade process is untested. A lot like getting into bed without protection.

Well I did this last night (upgraded RC7100 to 7 Pro)...and for me it wasn't as serious as your last comment there. I had nothing to lose so it wasn't a biggy. Okay well I did have stuff to lose but I was confident of my sources' steps/procedures.
The person mentions in that link that you wouldn't be able to retain your Data and speaks of the Windows.old folder but I retained all my Data and Programs and there was no Windows.old folder.
