I'm about to strip down some things using vlite but not sure if theres any problems with Vista 64-bit (I think Ive heard of some problems with SP1 though)? Anyone not recommend doing this?
The CD was sent from Dell (says REINSTALLATION DVD VISTA BUSINESS 64-BIT SP1) on it and does not even request a serial to validate =/
Thanks.

...personally I stay away from Vlite for Vista...all vlite users had to do a complete fresh re-install when SP1 came out.
so, that said, you could probably get it working (provided you have an SP1-integrated disk). But, when the next upgrade comes along (who knows when, maybe year(s)???), you might have to start all over again. -
I reformat every 6 months (or less if I catch a deadly virus), 1 year is nothing for me and yes my DVD says SP1 on it.

Hah, then go for it! =) (disclaimer: not a vlite professional =] )

Yeah I looked over at their forums, seems like its okay with V64. Saves about 2 gigs of hard-drive space when you cut Vista down into bones...I spent 6 hours doing it manually when I first installed Vista lol

Nice moves.
Let me know how it turns out, and if it's simple, a list of what you pruned from the installation.
Although there are implications I am interested to get a first-hand experience w/it (boot-times, program response time, etc.)
Good luck -
Im going to make a new thread when its done vliting my DVD, and then update that thread when I use the new vlited vista with any specs, overall feeling etc.
I don't expect boot-up times to be faster at all, just want to remove unnecessary files. But I'll let you know how it goes though.
Will I be okay if I use VLITE on a Vista Business 64-Bit CD?
