I'm planning to buy either Vista Home Premium or Ultimate for my Toshiba and I was wondering if and how well it would run (specs are in sig). I know that the GMA900 is not capable of running Aero but that won't be an issue. Thanks for your help.

You should just run Basic if you arent going to run Aero, since it can't. You are just wasting money imo.

U have the RAM, but the GMA 900 is ur bottleneck, as u stated.

If I were you, I would stick with XP in that machine. Vista would run ok, but u may find it to be slower than XP in the long run.
