My parents PC had sp1 on it, and it's got the key on the box. If I reinstall w/ sp2 can I use that key that came w/ the PC?

As long as its a SP1 key code yes.

You run into problems installing SP1 With a post SP2 Key code.

Ok, I don't have an sp1 install disc anyway, just an sp2, so I don't have to worry about installing sp1 w/ an sp2 key.

depending on who made the computer you may be able to reqeust a installation disc set (though theyll hit you for like $20 shipping). Just tell em your HD crashed or something. First time I tried it my reason, though legit, they didnt believe so I called back and said my HD died.
