    So with windows 8 coming out very soon does anyone know if the price will go down on windows 7? I am in the process of building a new desktop but have not purchased an OS yet and would rather not spend $100+ for windows 7.

    You're looking around $59.99 for plain-jane W7 after 8 comes out. Then spring another 40 bucks for the upgrade if you do it before Jan 2013.
