Hi. I got a copy of Vista from a friend who got it from MSDN. I am going to try and install it on my Compaq Presario R3000. AMD Athlon 64 bit 3000+, graphics card: Nvidia GeForce 4 440 Go 64 mb. Will I get the good transparancy features?

I think the 440 only supports DirectX 7.0, so it is two generations behind if you wish to run the Aerogel stuff.

Throw it on see what happens. Worst case is it won't work. I personally found the areoglass feature to be annoying. Made it hard to read things.

My GeForce4 supports Direct X 8.0, so I'd expect the same out come with yours. I don't think it supports Direct X 9.0, which Vista needs in order to use the AEROglass eye candy.
