    Hey everyone,

As of yet this isn't a client of mine, more like a co-worker, but he just installed Windows 7 on his DV9308 and installed the broadcom wireless driver for vista. And the driver keeps deleting itself every 4 hours or so.

To me it sounds like a botched windows 7 install but I figured I'd ask around to see if anyone else has encountered the issue. He's running an HP.

Are you sure he is using the right terminology? How is it deleted?

From what I can determine, he installs the wireless drivers, has tried several different versions, and after a few hours of surfing, his wireless connection disappears. He checks in device manager and it's become an unknown device. he installs the drivers again, same thing, works fine for a bit, then gone.

It's an older laptop, and he probably didn't do all the firmware updates before doing the install, and it's always possible the install got botched. That's my first guess. I've had issues with HP drivers before but nothing like this.

Really hard to give him an idea though without checking it out for myself. Gonna try and see if he will bring in the notebook one day so I can take a look.

I know the broadcom drivers can be finicky in HP's, but this one is a new one. Only other thing I can think of is that perhaps the wireless card is going out on him.

Is he able to setup the ethernet and trying Windows update for the drivers? I've had a lot of luck with Win 7 finding the drivers as long as you have net conenction.
