This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Win 7 Chdisk on bootup?

    Ok, this doesn't happen on every bootup but I get a message about a chdisk is about to perform during bootup and it takes a min or so to finish the chdisk. It's annoying and the previous shut down wasn't a crash, so I don't understand why Win 7 checks the health of my HD.

    Any of you encounter the same problem? how do you disable it?
