This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     So I need a notebook with Win8 Pro for my work reasons, but many on-shelf notebooks have Win8 standard on these instead. Cant find any info on this anywhere. Microsoft is offering $39.99 upgrade from previous versions of the OS, but is there any info about Win8 Standard to Win 8 Pro upgrade cost? I will be doing a clean install after I get my notebook, and might as well use Win8 Pro disk to do it. What is the cheapest possible way to buy Win8 Pro license/upgrade?
