    Hello,
I am using Windows 8 and hate it, everything goes through that front screen ugh.
I want to install windows 7 but it seems that when I remove the HDD and install another there are no boot options for a genuine windows 7 disk.
How do I change the settings in the Bios it just wont let me do anything with this new PC.

I am running an Asus Gamer G55V
    win 8 64bit
    8gb ram
    I7-3630qm processor 2.4ghz
    6x blue-ray

Some will tell me restart with the cd in and hit esc, yes I do this but there are no options.
When I have the original win 8 hdd in it also only has this option even with a genuine cd
If I go to bios there are no options to set boot even though it see the hdd and the Blu-ray, it seems like something is blocking it.
I am good with windows 7 units previously but this is frustrating me.

Would appreciate all and any help thanks.

before you try to revert to W7, try startisback. that will effectively turn W8 to W7.5.

after messing around with W8, I'm still sticking with W7 on all of my PCs, but few weeks ago was repairing a W8 laptop, had to reinstall the OS, so thought, let's try SiB while I got time and it made the non-touchscreen laptop 100% more usable.

if there is no boot priority for you to set to boot from the CD, or options to disable secure boot, you should then try installing a BIOS password and check to see if new features are visible at your BIOS

I ran across a post from someone having trouble finding a new disk. MS told him to format the disk with Win 7 and then CLEAN it. He used a utility called RBAN that I am not familiar with and it worked. There is also the issue with GPIT partitioning that Windows 8 uses and the ADVANCED format disks and UEFI bios. I am still getting used to all that new tech in my two new HPs with i7 Ivybridge. What does ASUS support say?
