I formatted and installed XP on my desktop, and i did this all when i was at home. (I don't have internet at home) and the 30 day activation limit expired and it asked me to resolve now or resolve later. So I decided to wait til i got back to school. So here I am now back in college and I chose to resolve now and I activated windows over the internet and everything is fine. Until I restarted my computer and i get the "Your copy of windows has not been activated yet" at the login screen. But I've done all the updates, even the icky IE7. And i tried going to start>all programs>accessories>system tools>activate windows, and it says windows has already been activated.
If anyone has had this problem it would be greatful if anyone could help. I have also done scans with AVG, Spybot S&D, and Ad-Aware. Both in safe mode and in normal boot up.

I'd say your best recourse is to call Microsoft. You bought a product from them, it's your right to expect it to work.

AFAIK, only Microsoft can fix that problem. Call the activation number and they will assist you.

alright thanks i was hoping it wouldn't result in this, cause from what i've heard i get to wait on the phone for about an hour. well thank you for the advice i appreciate it.

I always get through within 10 minutes. Maybe its just the time of day.. night but I almost always talk to a person in India. Just tell them your scenario and they will help you. GL
Also talk real slooooow. They will just want to get you off the phone quickly so they can go to the next caller, they will usually activate anything.
