    Hey All,

When i try to startup my little sisters old laptop and try to logon i get this message:

The local policy of the system does not permit you to logon interactively.

This is for both the regular boot and the safe mode, including the administrator option. The system runs on Windows XP home edition. Can anyone tell me what is going on and how to get rid of it?

    Thanks already!

    Grtz Jan

Try the above after her and your computer to a router and ensuring they are in the same workgroup

However, I have also seen this behavior after a virus attack altered the winlogon registry key. I've used a winpe disk (ie, bart) with offline registry editors to fix it. Kind of complicated to walk you through online, though.
