When I re-installed Win7 on M15x using Win7 Disks, I made sure to have wiped out all partitions and alloted all disk space for the new install. That was months ago.
A few days ago I was using Disk Manager and realized, Windows 7 reserved 100MB of Disk Space as "System Reserved".
In a week or two, I would be reinstalling Win7 on SSD. Space is limited on SSD and I'd like to squeze out all the available space.
Though 100MB is not HUGE, I am wondering what this is for and why Win7 did this? instead of plain RO files within main partition.

It holds the boot files and has that Windows Recovery thing you can boot into, on it. Its not a nessesary thing, and here is a guide to avoid it from being created during installation:
How to Prevent Windows 7 from Creating a Hidden /Recovery /System Reserved Partition during Installation
