I installed and, for the most part, have been extremely happy with RC 7201. The only problem, and it is getting more frequent, is that after leaving the laptop for several hours it freezes up. I will move the mouse, or hit a key and the screen goes from off to on, and then the laptop freezes. C+A+D, windows key, start menu...nothing works.
Sometimes it will un-freeze after a minute or so. Usually, I have to hard boot with power button. I have no power saving properties enabled, except for having the screen set to turn off after 5 minutes of inactivity.
I haven't noticed this behavior for anything less than 1-1/2 to 2 hours of inactivity.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

It might be an early beta/rc driver issue, one that mucks things up when waking from low-power and/or standby. You see this a lot with wireless cards but I can imagine the issue could happen with any piece of hardware.
Try setting the machine bios to factory defaults to make sure that all of the cpu power states are as windows might expect them to be.
Search around for updated drivers for all of your hardware or just reload the machine with a newer rc/beta leak. -
I am not having the same problem, but also running Win 7 on HDX 20 and in my case it freezes while booting up.
The 4 colourful dots flying around would just stop and nothing happens, it will get stuck like that.
It happens quite often. Power button nhas to be used to shut it down and start back up.
Win7 causing HP HDX to freeze up?
