You can run office 2007 on windows 7 just as good as if it were running on vista.

Its the same as with any old software - you don't get the future written out on the box.

    I can't see why it wouldn't work :)

And let's asume it wouldn't - MS would have made a fix available as they did not launch an office suite with Win7 :)
It would also be dangerous to drop support for one of Microsofts software bestsellers - dropping say Office 2000 on Win7 would be understandable - but not the most recent iteration :)

The reason it isn't stated anywhere, is because its so obvious..

I've yet to come across a piece of Vista software not compatible with 7.

None of the softwares included with my motherboard work under 7 x64. Haven't tried in Vista 64 though but... :(

If an application is x64 compatibility or not is a COMPLETELY different thing.

That's possibly due to specific 64Bit changes vs. 32Bit.
Things like signed drives - etc. also, software for the motherboard will need access to key components of the system.

OP: As Vista and 7 are based on the same major kernel version (NT6), software is mostly interoperable.

Manufacturer supplied software is often dodgy, and it might be an x86/x64 compatibility issue.
