I an odd question and I’m not quite sure how to word it. Which also made it hard to try to search online for a solution.

I have been using Windows 7 at work and home for some time and love the snap to half screen and snap to full screen features. I usually work either dual screen or triple screen and it makes it really easy to run 4 or even 6 windows across them all nice an evenly split without having to manually drag the window sizes all the time. I bring that up because I think this “other” feature that I’m looking for may be linked to the above or related to it in some form. I am running many, many windows at a time so anything I can do to increase my productivity is welcome even if it is a minor change.

At work I can move a window just off screen (temporarily not needed but want it handy) and then just move the mouse to the edge of the screen and the partially off screen window will slide back on the screen. It’s kinda neat and useful the way I am constantly working with my open programs.

However, at home, or any other windows 7 machine I’ve messed with, this does not happen. I cannot find any options not already enabled. I’ve mainly looked in the taskbar settings and the appearance settings where you can enable and disable various aero effects etc.

Does anyone know what this feature is called, and better yet how to enable or disable it?

    Thanks

Hm. Perhaps this is a special feature of the graphics driver on your work system?

The work laptop is a Lenovo T500 running WIndows 7 enterprise. It has both an ATI 3650 and integrated. I suppose it could be but it really just seems more like Windows feature.

Maybe it's something Lenovo enabled by default that most of the time is disabled?

Or one of the features of Lenovo's own Thinkvantage software.

    1. Nice rig dude! Have you tried ASUS multframe? I have version 1.0.0019 installed on my dell and my ASUS.
This will allow you to over ride the annoying tendancy to reszie the window that is dragged to the left or right of the screen. I use it all the time with my 17" screen.

    click search and grab multframe
When you launch it, check your systray and enjoy!

    . Hope this helps, Josea.
