So today when I booted up my laptop, I see none of my startup programs running such as touchpad driver, onedrive sync, avg and even audio drivers. then I rebooted my laptop again nothing changed and I got the infamous scvhost.exe problem that made my CPU ran at 100%. I tried to do a virus scan and I got a BSOD. afterwards the scvhost.exe problem went away, and my virus scan tells me there're no threats. HOWEVER, my startup programs are STILL not running, that including audio/avg/onedrive/energy manager theater blah blah.

I could turn on avg manually, but no luck for audio

I tried a system restore to two days ago when everything was perfectly fine, it doesn't help, I tried reinstalling the audio driver, however it just doesn't start after boot, and so are the rest of my startup programs.

any ideas on what to do?

I would really appreciate anything that can fix this, tho I personally think it's probably just corrupted OS...

oh images on websites seem to be not displaying too, probably a problem with flash which is not being enabled at startup due to this

Are the startup items set to disabled in the startup tab of the performance monitor (push ctrl-alt-esc)?

I didn't know you are using Windows 8, I guess I've missed it...
If you haven't already take a look at this, there are a few workaround described that worked for some, maybe they'll work for you too.
Now that I think about it the audio issue might be related to the start up problem you're having as well.

Edit: Pff a bit too late..sorry it seems I don't know what day it is anymore..
