I have tried a few online guides but they dont work, I now need a password that`s at least 8 characters long with one upper case and one number and one symbol and Win8.1 is now asking for it a bazillion times a day

I am close to cracking, save me please.

    John.

do you mean you want it to auto login to Windows?

For that, hit the Window Key + R , then type :

    netplwiz

now where it says require password, remove that checkmark and hit ok. you will then be asked to enter you password twice

    then hit ok

one more thing to do, is go to power options in control panel, then choose the the power button does, then choose do not require password when computer wakes up from sleep

yeah when I did have Windows 8.1 installed that's how I did it, auto login, if I want to secure the PC if someone was around simply hit Windows key + L and voila, the password prompt / locked screen is back there ;)
