    Hey.
Im trying to set up a wireless network connection (for file and print sharing) on a machine with XP home and windows 98se. (...its old I know...)

The xp home machine is the main computer connected to the router (wrt54g), the 98se machine has a wireless linksys pci card... which connects to the internet no problem!

but I cant seem to get the win98 machine to "see" the xp machine.. and vice versa.

They both have the same workgroup name.
File and print sharing is turned on, on the win98 machine.
File and print sharing works fine on the xp machine, in the sense that its already working on a network with an xp pro laptop, and vista bus. laptop.

    any suggestions?
    Thanks!

it took me about 8 hours of tweaking to get a network between (i have no idea what solved it either) 98 and xp working and trust me, its not worth the trouble, just upgrade the OS on the win 98

Yeah, my dad has something similar in his office, XP'll be fine. The 384 RAM definitely helps speed things up even if the processor is not... blazing. But yeah, don't try using Vista on that XD

How do you run XP on your machine with 192 MB RAM? Do you limit the startup items and such?
