How?
I have followed this tutorial here: http://www.brighthub.com/computing/windows-platform/articles/7785.aspx#disqus_thread
But when trying to connect with an iPad, the iPad makes it a point to tell me that there is no internet connected on the Wifi I am trying to join.![]()
Any ideas?
Thank you.

There's a program I guess called "OSToto Hotspot", but it won't install because it is missing some kind of .dll..

How is your laptop connected to the internet?

I'm connected to the internet through standard Ethernet/LAN Cat-6 cable incoming from my cable modem.

On that first tutorial you linked, did you try:
"Click the “Advanced" tab and check “Allow other network users to connect through the computer’s Internet connection.“
When selecting your LAN ethernet connection in Network Connections? Or there appear to be some more settings under that as well that you could check.
Or maybe you have to highlight both the Wi-fi and LAN connection icons in Network Connections, right click them and bridge them together? I'm not sure if that will work.Last edited: Jun 12, 2017 -
Alright,
Believe it or not it was the Firewall setting of my LAN. I turned off the firewall and now the iPad connects just fine.
I'd like to keep the firewall, but I want the hotspot to be public.
Thanks everybody for your help.
Edit: Well, it worked for a second anyway. :S Now it works again.. we'll see. Ok. the hotspot will only stay open as long as the iPad is connected to it. Bummer. I'll just have to manually start it each time.Last edited: Jun 13, 2017
