Hi guys, i recently changed from Windows Vista ultimate to Windows XP SP2 and i like it more haha ... The problem is , windows XP doesn't have any options for me to choose , like Power saver, Performance & Balanced. Today,i was trying to play games on my laptop with battery and the games LAGGED LIKE CRAZYYY , everything was sooo slow !!!! But when i plug the charger, its completely different performance.

How can i gain the performance of when charger is plugged in ? I tried to search in Power Management , but no matter what i choose, the results and performance are all the same ... please help!!

Look for power options in the Control Panel, or left click on the battery/power plug icon in the system tray, and choose Home/Office Dekstop or Minimal Power Management to go to max performance. Also look at the nVidia power settings whilst on battery (I don't have a nVidia card but if its like ATI's CCC you can choose what it does when on battery/power).

You might need to go into the Powermizer settings for the nVidia card and make sure that theres no power saving on that. That would most likely be the main cause for slow performance in games. There's also NHC which gives you control over the power state of the CPU and HDD if supported aswell.
Download CPU-z and GPU-z or whatever the GPU equivalent one is to make sure that you've disabled the power options.

look in video card settings, there should be a setting that slows your video card down when on battery or at certain percentage of batter, find it and fix it.
